What Can I Be? A Guide to 525 Liberal Arts and Business Careers.
Lieberman, Leo
This book is designed to aid high school students who plan to go to college, as well as college students and graduates, in making suitable career decisions. It is divided into two parts. The first names 20 typical college majors, and lists under each one a wide range of occupations to which the major can lead. A college graduate having difficulty finding employment in a specific portion can discover additional jobs for which he is qualified. The second part helps to match a student's interests, abilities, and degree of motivation with the requirements of particular careers in the following areas: academic courses; competence in dealing with data, people, and things; and level of education (B.A., M.A., or Ph.D.). It includes a section on sources of career information, through which counselors and libraries can accumulate an up-to-date, authoritative library of career information at little or no cost. (PFS)
