Staff development problems faced by new engineering education institutions in developing countries are examined in detail in this report. Some of the root problems of staff development identified and discussed here are: the need for planning, varied practical work experience, pedagogy, study abroad, and expatriate staff. A number of possible ways to solve these problems are suggested. Some attention to government policies, industrial cooperation, and international assistance is given. (Author/MA)
