The Humanity in Management Information Systems.
Klausner, David
More emphasis should be placed on "human factors" in the management information systems (MIS). They should be tailored to their users--the administrators, faculty, and students. Easy communication with an information system is a basic necessity, just as is the ability to get simpler answers to the most complex questions. All levels of the university community should be served by the system, and each level should be able to communicate in a way that is unique to its need. The complete MIS must be prepared to change; to shrink as well as grow to meet the needs of the changing university environment. An example of such a system at the City University of New York is presented. (Author)
