Notes for a Field Study of Instructional Time. Beginning Teacher Evaluation Study. Technical Report No. 75-10-11.
Harnischfeger, Annegret; Wiley, David E.
This paper follows up on an earlier report that presented a theory on instructional processes that relied on a time metric. In this paper a design for field studies within this theoretical orientation is presented. Methods to obtain information on how teachers allocate time so that grouping and individualization strategies can be studied are discussed. Sampling procedures for observations are recommended, and a data file structure for this kind of information is explained. (Authors)
