The report is presented by the Council for Cultural Cooperation (CCC) of the Council of Europe to inform member countries and persons concerned with European education of Council activities during 1975. It contains an analytical survey of the Council's cultural program and its adaptation to educational needs in European countries since 1961. The report's contents include the following: (1) trends in language and vocational education on the secondary level and merging of primary and preschool teacher training; (2) recognition of degrees between countries in post-secondary education; (3) problems and prospects in adult education, particularly in areas of training adult educators and teaching modern languages to adults; (4) a European documentation and information system for education; (5) cultural democracy; and (6) unemployment and social alienation of youth. The appendix, which comprises the bulk of the report, includes a list of symposia sponsored by the Council in l975, a list of cultural and educational reports published by the Council recently, estimated expenditures of the Council in 1975, and a balance sheet as of December 1975.
