Motor Enrichment.
Thornhill, Marion
Presented is a motor enrichment manual designed as part of Project PEPP (Putnam City Early Prevention Program), a program for handicapped children in kindergarten, first, and second grades. The manual is divided into five units: body image, gross motor, laterality, directionality, and fine motor. Provided for each unit are a criterion referenced test to determine in what areas the child is proficient, a monitoring instrument check list to determine which objectives to use for remediation, and lesson plans (which include information on materials needed, related areas, group size, lesson time, and procedure) for each objective. Among the areas taught are facial parts, body parts, static balance, jumping, spatial constancy, spatial relationships, and hand-finger dexterity. (SBH)
