Coordination of Community Services.
Austin Independent School District, TX.
Activities involved in coordinating community services for handicapped children in the Austin Early Childhood Special Education (AECSE) Program are reviewed. Needs are explained to be identified through records review and appraisal of the health screening programs. Establishing priorities and developing cooperation between parents, staff, and the community are seen to be important steps in meeting the student's needs. Other aspects of the community coordination program are linking AECSE to community resources, helping to improve the community's service system for children, and disseminating information about the AECSE Program.
