FANTAB: A Computerization of Rules of Thumb for Factorial ANOVA Tables.
Brown, David Lile
FANTAB is a computer program written in Fortran IV which helps design factorial analysis of variance tables and provides formulae for table entries. It is a computerization of a paper entitled: "Rules of Thumb for Writing the Anova Table" (Millman and Glass, 1967). FANTAB is appropriate for factorial models which have two, three, or four factors, some of which may be nested. Input consists of factor names, factor types (random, finite, or fixed), and factor nestings (if any). FANTAB yields a checklist of input and analysis of variance table entries including: sources, sums of squares, degrees of freedom, mean squares, expected mean squares, and F-ratios. Appendices illustrate the main program and various examples of input. (Author/MV)
