This document presents twenty-two instruments for the examination of practices in school management by principals. They are an outcome of the Principals 505 Project, which was intended to develop competency standards for the certification of principals based on observed classroom practice. The instruments organize descriptors, which identify actual competencies in action, into an easy-to-follow observation method. The instruments are presented in four categories, dealing with competencies in organizational management, resource management, community relations, and instructional management. (MJB)
