Human Services-Drug Abuse Project. First Year Report.
Miami-Dade Community Coll., FL.
Miami-Dade Community College is engaged in a project designed to develop a model Associate Degree program for Human Services/Drug Abuse workers, to establish a national consortium of community colleges to offer the program, and to develop the curricula and instructional methodology for a "first course" in drug abuse for persons going into the Human Services field. This report summarizes the college's first year progress in attaining these goals. Included are the methods for gathering information, forming preliminary hypotheses, developing criteria for participating institutions, and informing and orienting the institutions to their tasks. Consortium meeting reports describe the determination of lines of budgeting and responsibility and the development of a program guide. The program guide, a five-college program content analysis, course design modules, learning materials lists, and a master list of goals and objectives are appended, as are the program manager job description, a discussion of theoretical considerations, an analysis of the delivery capabilities of consortium colleges, and meeting agendas.
