This directory contains brief descriptions of 386 educational programs and practices considered by the Kansas State Department of Education to be promising. Four hundred Kansas teachers and administrators submitted descriptions of programs and practices, most of which are applicable to elementary and secondary education, although 36 are appropriate for preschool, 82 appropriate for kindergarten, and 52 appropriate for postsecondary education. Sections in this directory cover these curriculum and instructional areas: art, business, career and vocational education, language arts, mathematics, music, science, social studies, and special education, as well as general elementary and secondary education and administrative services.
