A product of joint effort between the Colorado Department of Institutions and the Division of Developmental Disabilities, the guide presents hierarchically arranged instructional objectives to determine goals for developmentally disabled persons. The most advanced skills are listed first with basic skills following for four major categories: physical skills (including perceptual motor, gross motor, and wheelchair skills), communication skills (reading, writing, and speech and language skills), self management skills (such as leisure, home management, and daily living skills), and employment skills (including work performance and interpersonal relations at work.
