Student feedback in the form of traditional discussions, examinations, and student rating with numerical and open-ended questions, as well as television tapings and peer feedback, are examined to see their effectiveness on improving teacher performance. Self-directed evaluations are also considered, as well as the teachers' personal reactions to the various forms of evaluation. The appendix gives examples of questionnaires that students fill in, giving their opinions and evaluations of individual courses and teachers' performances, and also forms for teachers to use for self-evaluation after viewing videotapes of their classroom behavior.
