CRT Coordinator's Operational Manual. A Vocational Education Strategy for Washington State's Small/Rural/Isolated High Schools.
Blue, James L.; Riggs, Walter A.
Designed to provide information for local school district personnel in the state of Washington, this Community Resource Trainer (CRT) manual is the product of those school district administrators and coordinators who piloted the CRT Program in three small, rurally isolated high schools between the 1972-73 and 1973-74 school years. Illustrating the basic concepts of the CRT Program (i.e., community volunteers working in conjunction with a CRT coordinator in developing tailor made vocational instruction on a one-to-one trainer student basis), this guide presents exemplary practices and techniques as follows: basic concepts of the CRT Program; the CRT learning strategy (actual learning activities with behavioral objectives); application for admittance into the community resource training program; community resource trainer contract; student training agreement; CRT coordinator's call report; student attendance record; the community resource laboratory facility/trainer description; CRT documentation of costs; student evaluation (completion certificate and honorary degree); community resource training program potential trainer survey; insurance; State and Federal regulations; student transportation; some possible areas of operational concern; advisory committees; instruction of community resource trainers; teacher certification; and community endorsement and support.
