This report of research discusses the role of popular television in developing children's verbal skills and in bringing together adolescents and adults. Implications for the home and classroom are described. Titles include "If You Believe in Television, Clap Your Hands," an introductory look at research concerning popular television in the classroom; "TV. It's Enough to Make You Think," which discusses building vocabulary and critical and valuing skills through television; "We're the TV People . . . You Be You, I'll Be Me," which examines the relationship between television and crosscultural and intergenerational learning; and "Have It Your Way, Have It Your Way," which provides a how-to manual for adapting television to the home or classroom.
