Job Demands and Worker Health. Symposium.
French, John R., Jr.; And Others
Seventeen years ago a group of researchers at the University of Michigan became interested in the possibility that occupational health may be determined by psychological as well as physical hazards in the work environment. This symposium reports on current work in testing a unified theory of the effects of psychosocial stresses on mental and physical health. This document is divided into four sections: (1) Job Demands and Worker Health; Introduction; (2) Occupational Differences in Job Demands and Strain; (3) Job Stress as Person-Environment Misfit; and (4) Effects of Social Support on Occupational Stresses and Strains.
