The author reports autobiographically and analyzes the components of a successful job search in mid-career. Practical suggestions are given which apply to "early career individual" as well as to "mid-career persons." The four ingredients of an effective job search strategy are: being organized, identifying personal skills, holding positive self-concepts and initiating contacts to fit each potential job situation.
