Problems, Satisfactions and Habits of Off-Campus Students at UT-Knoxville. 1975 Commuter Opinion Survey. Final Report.
Scroggins, Don; Haskins, Jack B.
This is the last report on the Commuter Opinion Survey conducted during the spring quarter of 1975 at the University of Tennessee (UT) at Knoxville. It is a complete, detailed report on all findings and tabulations from the survey, including a statement of methodology. An important added feature is a complete cross-tabulation of all results by class level, full- or part-time status, day or evening status, age, employment, marital status, distance to UT, and sex. The survey probed the off-campus students' views of campus problems, their reactions to new ideas and proposals, their feelings toward proposed programs and services designed especially for off-campus students, their general satisfaction, and their use of various campus facilities and services. By far the greatest problem seen was in parking and transportation, followed by finances, off-campus housing, and various problems with landlords. Suggestions and degree of satisfaction were related to these problems. (MSE)
