Your Gifted Child and You.
Kaufmann, Felice
Intended for teachers and parents of gifted and talented students, the volume provides guidelines for the identification of these exceptional children and presents strategies to help develop their potential. Sections covering the topic of identification cite case studies and provide a check list of descriptive qualities related to the gifted population. Special problems of the gifted are discussed in another section, including such topics as underachievement, cultural differences, and learning difficulties. Final sections for parents include answers to questions parents might ask and give guidelines for developing a parent organization. Appended are a bibliography of 24 books and three journals, and a listing of suggested resources. Additionally included is a listing by states of parent organizations for the gifted. (IM)
