The package is one of eight, each covering one of the following career guidance competencies that were identified and validated as needed by teachers to assist in the career development of their students: Valuing, decisionmaking, lifestyle, community resources, working relationships, occupational information, parental involvement, and tests. The teacher competency for this package involves the use of activities designed to enable learners to acquire and apply decisionmaking skills. The 7 sample activities presented are titled: "Informal Decision-Making,""Decision-Making Steps,""Risk Taking,""Information Gathering,""Using Community Information,""Data Input," and "Group Consensus."
