This volume is devoted to phonetics and phonology. It consists of the following papers: (1) "Generative Phonology, Dependency Phonology and Southern French," by J. Roca, which discusses a system of notation in Catalan generative phonology; (3) "EMG - Techniques and Application to Speech Research," by C. Riordan, which describes a centralist model of speech production; (4) "Some Observations on the Role of Place and Manner of Articulation in the Perception of the Voicing Characteristics of Final Consonants," by D.
