Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, Inc., Madison, CT.
Part two of the Northeast Conference Reports for 1975 deals with implementation of the ideas outlined in part one regarding curriculum, teaching and evaluation. Culture is discussed as it relates to the four language skills, at all levels, with a look at the planning and construction of a culturally oriented thematic unit. In addition, consideration is given to the teacher and teaching methodology. Particular reference is made to a variety of techniques for a variety of needs, specifically review sessions, exploratory programs, foreign language for travelers, and advanced levels. Finally, basic questions in the preparation of test questions are discussed, as well as various types of questions, including diagnostic versus global, tests of factual knowledge and cultural topics, and affective values tests.
