The Romanian-English Contrastive Analysis Project; Monograph Studies, Vol. 2.
Chitoran, Dumitru, Ed.
The second volume in this series contains three articles dealing with various aspects of Romanian-English contrastive analysis. The first articles, "The Contrastive Morphophonology of Romanian and English," by Anca Belchita-Hartular, aims at a descriptive analysis of the phonological aspect of inflection in Romanian and English, in an attempt to reveal similarities and differences in the structure of the two languages. "Sentence Contraction in Romanian and English. The Nominalization," by Ileana Vincenz-Vintu, represents a contrastive analysis of Romanian and English sentences generated through nominalization rules. The third article, "A Contrastive Analysis of Reflexive Constructions in English and Romanian," by Brigita Visan-Neuman, summarizes the principal types of classification of reflexive constructions that have been suggested by linguists.
