Intensive Staff Development for Teachers and Administrators in the Denver Public Schools.
Roberts, Frank E.
The primary purpose of this practicum was to design and implement a staff development program to assist teachers and administrators in acquiring instructional and classroom management skills. The program was designed to demonstrate and model the techniques to be learned by participants during inservice instruction, provide for supervised practice in the participant's classroom to maximize the probability that the techniques will be applied, and arrange for ongoing monitoring of the participant's classroom performance to assure continued use of the techniques by providing building administrators with additional skills necessary for effective monitoring. The program was evaluated utilizing both process and product evaluation procedures. The preliminary results of the evaluation indicate that the program has been directly beneficial to participating teachers and administrators. (Author/IRT)
