This booklet, third in a three-volume series, presents a description of community coordination for managing and preventing child abuse and neglect. Within the context of the "community-team approach," various resources for identification and diagnosis, treatment and education are discussed. Chapters cover: (1) the community-team approach; (2) central registers (case indices), including their present status and organizational and operational considerations; (3) treatment programs for both parents and children; (4) education of the public and professionals, and public relations campaigns; (5) coordinating the components that make up a program, and guidelines for people wishing to start a community-team program; and (6) primary prevention measures.
