Teacher-Designed Population Education.
This is a report on teacher-designed population education, a project that was a joint venture of the Rhode Island Education Association, the National Education Association, and the University of Rhode Island. The project gave 15 Rhode Island teachers an opportunity to learn about population education and to design their own teaching procedures. The report begins with the National Education Association's view of population education, followed by a rationale for population education. The Rhode Island Project is then described. Some statements on the future of population Education conclude the report. Appended are (1) information on the population education workshops, (2) a population education questionnaire for students, and (3) a list of films. (RC)
