A Young Child Experiences: Activities for Teaching and Learning.
Kaplan, Sandra Nina; And Others
This booklet was designed as a guide for a classroom experiential learning program for young children. The first chapter deals with the teacher's role in creating the desired learning environment, organizing activities, helping children with experiences, record keeping, reporting, scheduling, and working with aides, parents, and the community. Chapters 2 through 7 present ideas, activities, and suggestions for materials to use in six areas of experience: (1) junk experiences, (2) me experiences, (3) talking experiences, (4) writing experiences, (5) experiences in the arts, and (6) environmental experiences. The final section contains over 60 pages of task cards and worksheets for reproduction. (JMB)
