Texas Day Care Study Final Report: Occupational Analysis of Day Care Personnel.
Zaccaria, Michael A.; And Others
This booklet describes the results of a study involving the development, administration, and analysis of a job inventory of Texas day care positions. The inventory of tasks was used to determine the job performance of 684 child care workers in Texas day care centers and to determine the opinions of child care experts, center directors, licensing representatives, and others on such factors as consequences of inadequate performance, training priority, and task learning difficulty. Ten job description clusters evolved which account for nearly all the work performances of teaching and administrative staff members of day care centers used in the survey. Five of the job description cluster groups were of a teaching type, and five were of an administrative type. An extensive presentation of the data collected is included. Detailed job descriptions for the ten cluster groups and training materials for day care worker tasks are presented in the appendix. (Author/BRT)
