Manual for Museum Computer Network GRIPHOS Application.
Vance, David
This is the second in a series of manuals prepared by the Museum Computer Network explaining the use of General Retrieval and Information Processor for Humanities Oriented Studies (GRIPHOS). The user with little or no background in electronic data processing is introduced to the use of the various computer programs of the GRIPHOS system and the ways in which these programs may be combined to perform the cataloging, indexing, and dissemination functions needed by the museum user. The first chapter defines technical terms, the second chapter presents a typical museum data processing job, and subsequent chapters describe individual GRIPHOS programs. The final chapter describes the sequences in which GRIPHOS programs may be used to perform museum functions. (CH)
