Evaluation of Elementary Level Reorganization for the School Year 1972-73.
Baruchin, Fred; Kinsbury, Grace
In early 1972 the district embarked on a reorganization project to solve organizational problems that had lingered over the previous several years. Its objectives were to improve an already high quality educational program, increase the operational efficiency of the district, and provide for demonstrably greater economy. The results presented cover the district's findings concerning six specific reorganizational criteria: financial and staffing factors, educational criteria, social criteria, student attendance, transportation, and comparative class size. Also included are parent reactions to the reorganization. Four "indicators of quality" are used as the educational criteria: individualization, interpersonal regard, creative expression, and group activity. (Author/IRT)
