This journal provides a focal point for the collection and distribution of systematically processed information about theory and practice in theatre. Part of an irregularly published series, this volume contains investigations of audience information processing and its relationship to subject sex and stimulus complexity, manipulation and measurement of vocal frequency levels of student actors, the perception of racial themes in neutral performances among black audience members, and the three components of the actor's nonverbal repertoire (power, immediacy, and responsiveness). In addition, a study of audience analysis and its possible ramifications for advertising, theater promotion, and performance selection is included, as well as an analysis of the correlation between director expectancy and actor effectiveness.
