The report is published to provide data for effectively evaluating New York State's continuing efforts to achieve equality of employment opportunity in State agencies. Results of the survey are shown as distributed by these variables: agency, ethnic group and sex, occupational group, salary grade, ethnic group and jurisdictional classification, and distribution of State employment by location. Contents of the report include highlights of the 1974 survey, analysis of selected findings, and tables of data. Appendixes contain charts and extracts from previous surveys for comparison purposes; data on employees not included in the survey because sex and/or ethnic origin were not reported; and salary schedules, definitions of ethnic categories and occupations, and guidelines used in the collection of data.
