Development of Multi-Media Career Units for Use With Students in Higher Education. Final Report.
Sewall, Adrian J.
The project developed three slide-sound units to be used to help postsecondary school youth to determine their values, interests, and aptitudes; to identify careers compatible with them; and to be able to recognize and utilize resources that will allow them to explore and experience work in these careers. From October 1974 to June 1975, surveys were conducted of all career resources in the greator Bangor area. Based on the completed surveys, extensive interviews were conducted and photographs taken. The sound-slide units that were developed from this resource material are intended for use in career planning courses, seminars, small group meetings, or by individual students. The report includes a bibliography of career development resources; lists of area resources contacted by the project; cover letters; sample questionnaires for instructional staff, information centers, department heads, offices or agencies, and business or other organizations; and a career resources check list.
