Introductory Interdisciplinary Course in the Natural Sciences. Final Report.
Cobas, Amador
During the academic year 1972-1973, an Introductory Interdisciplinary Course in Natural Sciences, Natural Sciences 101-102, was offered as a voluntary alternative to the traditional separate courses in physics, biology, and chemistry, for a group of 60 students. The method of selection of the students, the organization of the course, and the criteria used for evaluation of the course are fully described, together with conclusions and recommendations for future developments. The overall conclusion is that this course provided an exciting and valid alternative to the more conventional courses, and that it has provided an important stimulus to future planning of the natural sciences curriculum.
