An Evaluation of A New Curriculum Design as a True Experiment.
Eash, Maurice J.; And Others
The purpose of this three-year evaluation was to determine the effects of a newly designed curriculum for early adolescents. From a pool of 600 applicants, students were randomly assigned to the new curriculum school and to traditional schools curriculum. A number of measures of the implementation of the curriculum and its effects on students were made. Findings on the effects of an innovative curriculum on a student-perceived learning environment, student self-concept, parental reaction, and the usefulness of randomization in formative and summative evaluation are analyzed and discussed.
