Self-Actualization and Grade Point Average Investigation of Statistical Correlations.
Leeper, Harry C., Jr.
The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of self-actualization, with primary emphasis on the possible correlation to academic achievement exhibited by the students in the Information Systems (Telecommunications) curriculum at the Naval Postgraduate School. The author provides a summary of an extensive review of the literature on the concepts of "self" and "self-actualization." In addition, the results of scores obtained from the Shostrom POI, a personality inventory constructed to measure levels of self-actualization, are correlated to the grade point averages of the aforementioned students.
