The Portland (Oregon) Public School Project Career Education (PCE) Activities for grades 4-6 is based on the city's overall Area 2 program goals for career education which proposed that children completing school should have sufficient knowledge and competencies to enter into a field of employment or an advanced training program in that field. Discussed in general are the project's goals in career awareness and career exploration. The remaining sections are divided by grade levels (4-6), providing integrated career awareness activities in social studies, language arts, math, health and science, and general areas of interest. For each activity the theme, grade level, curriculum area, life role, purpose, objectives, materias/resources, and teaching procedures are outlined.
