Descriptive Statistics.
Weed, Harrison D., Jr.
This brief text was written to provide more extensive treatment of descriptive statistics than is ordinarily available in modern statistics textbooks. It is intended for use in conjunction with any college level text. The booklet consists of an introduction, three content oriented chapters, and four appendices devoted to computer programming related to the content presented. The three chapters are concerned with (1) data and frequency distributions, (2) measures of location (central tendency), and (3) measures of dispersion. Each chapter includes worked examples and illustrations, as well as expository material. Several exercises of varying complexity are included in each chapter. (SD)
