Questionnaire for Parents.

The 116-item parent questionnaire is designed for parents of elementary school children. It is intended to be used with the child's mother, or the person acting as the child's mother. The questionnaire consists of a section devoted to demographic variables and scales measuring 14 parent variables: (1) parent's achievement aspirations for the child, (2) home learning environment, (3) parental concern and interest in child's education, (4) parental demand for maturity and independence, (5) quantity of TV, (6) parental restriction of TV, (7) parental activities, (8) resignation, (9) futility, (10) conservatism, (11) parental acceptance of child, (12) parental permissiveness, (13) parental restrictiveness, and (14) parent authority attitudes. Summary statistics are provided in the main report. Instructions for completing the questionnaire and a coding key are included. (Author/RC)
