Zinn, Karl L.
The MERIT Computer Network interconnects computing systems of three large universities: The University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University. This telecommunication system facilitates the sharing of computing resources among students, faculty, and research staffs of those institutions. The present document provides an overview of the facilities and activities involving instructional use of computers at the University of Michigan. In the report consideration is given to those ideas and programs that may be exchanged among departments at the University of Michigan or among colleges and universities in the state of Michigan. Each entry is associated with a center, institute, or department. Included for each is information on technical aspects of the resource together with a description of its application. A keyword index is provided as a guide to hardware, software, applications, and funding sources. (DCC)
