The Junior High-School Principalship: The Study of the Secondary-School Principalship. A Report. Volume II.
Rock, Donald A.; Hemphill, John K.
This report presents some of the data gathered in a survey of approximately 4,500 junior high school principals in the United States during the 1964-65 school year. Two different questionnaires were used in the survey, with approximately 2,200 principals responding to each questionnaire. Various questions examined the personal and professional background of principals; the duties, activities, and compensation of principals; and principals' attitudes on current educational issues. The data are displayed in 170 tables that list responses according to such factors as geographical region, school size, per-student expenditure, grade structure, rural or urban location, and principal job satisfaction. Tables may reproduce poorly. (JG)
