Analyzing Verbal Classroom Interaction.
Kryspin, William J.; Feldhusen, John F.
This textbook on verbal classroom interaction is designed to be used as one unit in an educational psychology course at the postsecondary level. The book is divided into three sections which discuss the Flanders' Interaction Analysis System (FIAS), the categories in the system, and the use of the system. The first section gives the underlying rationale for the analysis of classroom interaction and introduces the interaction analysis model. The second section of the book is devoted to the categories of the FIAS--Teacher Talk, Student Talk, and No Talk/All Talk. Section three of the text is designed to develop the student's ability in the use of FIAS. The text has exercised throughout the chapters, remediation activities, and pre- and post-measurement instruments. (HMD)
