This report describes the activities of an institute for the advanced professional preparation of educational media specialists. It begins with a description of the procedure by which the eight student-participants were selected for this first part of what was designed to be a two year-program leading to the Ed. D or Ph.D degree in instructional development and technology. Orientation sessions, weekly seminars, field trips, and informal social sessions are reviewed, and a list of the speakers who made presentations at the various luncheons and seminars is presented. Other aspects of the institute that are described in the report include: special resource facilities, information resources, funding problems, instructional media, student workrooms, and student evaluations. There is a large set of appendixes in which brochures, participants' backgrounds, seminar activities, speakers, field trips, and evaluation instruments and results are displayed. (Author)
