This survey summarizes, in tabular form, the latest reports of year-round education activities in the United States as supplied by State and outlying district education agencies. Tables cover the period July 1, 1973 through February 1, 1974. Data reported include the number of operational programs and study/planning activities in each State, the number of students affected by programs in progress and those being planned, the number and types of operational programs and the distribution of students in these programs, the grade levels involved, the purpose of the program, extent of curriculum change, teacher contract effects, program evaluation status, and funding sources. Selected data are also compared with the 1972-73 survey. Data reported on individual programs and activities are given by State. In addition to providing the type of information cited above, individual activity data also reports the project name, the name of each school district and/or school, and the name and address of the superintendent and the project director. An indication is made as to which projects have available published materials that describe their activities. (Author/DN)
