Individualizing Objective Testing, Individualized Teacher Preparation.
Florida State Univ., Tallahassee. Dept. of Science Education.; General Learning Corp., Morristown, NJ.
As a part of the Individualized Teacher Preparation materials, several ideas and suggestions for objective and individual evaluation of student progress are presented in this 1973 version of the module designed for in-service teachers to prepare themselves for teaching the individualized and activity-centered Intermediate Science Curriculum Study course. The module includes four chapters with emphases upon teachers' learning at their own pace. Main topics are related to teachers' abilities of making subjective and objective judgments, Gagne's classes of students' learned capabilities, learning outcome verbs, ways of stating performance objectives, group and individualized testing, and methods of implementing performance checks. A teachers' self-evaluation check is given to ensure the teachers' acquisition of the modular content. Further information about the main topics is presented under the heading of excursions, including an annotated bibliography and lists of users and developers of behavioral objectives. Answers to the teachers' self-evaluation check are also given. (See ED 072 945 for the 1972 experimental edition.) (CC)
