The School Administrator--An Efficient Businessman.
Brock, Henry C., III
Many educators and those outside the educational community think that the time is approaching rapidly--if in fact it has not already arrived--when school administrators charged with educational responsibilities and leadership can no longer be satisfied with merely getting the job done, but must consider the means by which a school's goals and objectives can be attained most efficiently. The demands on educational leaders are rapidly reaching the point at which they are exceeding the educator's ability to meet them. Only through the use of efficiency techniques can school administrators unleash the time, energy, and money to meet the already high number of demands. To aid administrators in improving efficiency, this report discusses (1) managing time, (2) time-saving management tools, (3) how to provide efficient facilities, (4) how to provide an efficient environment, (5) how to design school forms, (6) how to communicate effectively, and (7) management surveys in education. A bibliography is provided. (Author/JF)
