This auteuristic analysis of Hollywood filmmaker Frank Tashlin (1913-1972) includes critical commentary, interviews, and a biographical chronology. In two interviews, Tashlin elaborates on his motivations in creating some of the notable scenes in his many comic films and on his world view as an artist. An essay on Jerry Lewis is included since the comic actor frequently starred in Tashlin films.
