The Input-Output Relation in Language Behavior.
Bung, Klaus
This paper is part of a series presented at the symposium on a European units/credits system for modern language learning to adults. Included are a list of 58 modules or units of study, together with some indication of real-life situations in which the skills associated with the modules could be used. These modules have to be further divided so that a greater freedom of choice can be given to users with more particular needs and interests. As an aid to the establishment and justification of the modules of the units/credits system, a mathematical model is being developed. The modules presented in this report are a selection of those that can be derived from the model. Also included here are a model for the comprehension of unclear utterances, minimal skills of a foreign language copy-typist, a representation of conversation, and a general outlook for further work.
