Facilitation of the Development of a Systems Approach to the Management of Educational Resources. An End of Project Report.
Racine Unified School District 1, WI.
To clearly delineate the objectives of this ESEA Title III project, the objectives for the total systems analysis development project being undertaken by the Racine School District are described briefly. Specifically, this report concerns itself with two of the nine objectives of the project. The first is the development of learning outcomes specifications and concomitant measurement criteria for the elementary school curriculum in mathematics, social studies, and art. The second is the training or retraining of selected staff in those knowledges and skills necessary for the optimal development of the component parts of the total systems analysis procedures. According to the report, the outcomes of the project far exceeded expectations. An appendix of statistical data demonstrates that the systems approach described here can result in increased student achievement. (Author/WM)
