This document dealing with the System for Pupil Program Evaluation and Development (SPPED) is the second in a set of tools to be used by school personnel in developing curricula for their own reading programs. The material presented consists of: (1) a list of the descriptors for all criterion objectives and the generic objectives to which they apply, (2) an explanation of the sampling objectives and a blank page of formats for duplication, (3) the full wording of all summative objectives, and (4) an alphabetized index of criterion objective descriptors. The nature and purpose of the criterion objectives, their relation to the other reading resources, and procedures for their use are described in detail in the "Training Manual for the Bank of Objectives, Items and Resources in Reading."
